Last Post of 2011

Wow! I have to say it perplexes me how quickly this year has flown by. I never thought this time last year that I would be lucky enough to have a blog with 78 fabulous followers. I am seriously grateful to every one of you for following me on my blogging journey and I hope you'll all still be there on the day when I start putting OOTD photos up and showing who I actually am. My main New Years resolution for me is to be a bit more organised with my blog, by posting more and taking better quality photos at times of the day when the lighting isn't abysmal.

Above all though, I hope to generally enjoy blogging by setting time aside, putting the television off, then seriously getting in to it, rather than just whacking out a speedy post while watching Eastenders.

Also, I apologise for the fact that the last two posts have been rather sporadic and have consisted only of writing, but sometimes I just feel words speak louder than photos and if they're not relevant to the topic, then there's no point. But, hey here's a rather relevant photo of a clock seeing as it's New Years Eve, hope you all have a good one!

Sunday Night Faves No.18 (Christmas Day!)

Happy Christmas everyone! I hope you all had a fantastically festive day! I feel as though it would be overly materialistic to show you stuff I'm yearning after on Christmas day when I've just received plenty of lovely stuff from my mum and dad! So, I thought I'd would write a quick post just to wish you guys a happy Christmas!
My Christmas has been lovely, just a nice relaxing day at home with family and a lovely Christmas dinner! I don't know if any of you guys looking at the NORAD Santa clause tracker last night, but I found it wierdly enjoyable watching Santa arrive over various parts of the world via cartoon animation. Anyway, I hope everyone has a lovely Boxing Day, if you're planning on heading to the sales, I wish you the best of luck and I hope you find a bargin!

Think Pink!

Hey guys! As some of you may now from many of my blog posts, I have a slight obsession with the colour pink. It's an obsession that began when I was a young child and has followed me through to my teenage years. I am literally drawn like a moth to a flame when I spy a flash of pink out of the corner of my eye. It's a colour I can't get enough of and a colour that will no doubt, always be my favourite.
In case any of you are lovers of pink, I thought I would share some of my favourite pink items in the shops at the moment.
What do you guys think of the colour pink, yay or nay? Be sure to comment and let me know!

Sunday Night Faves No.17

Hey guys! I apologise for the lack of posts this week but I've been busy finishing up some school work and what not. Anyway I thought fr my Sunday Night Faves this week I would add a Christmas theme, just to put you all in the festive mood! Hopefully I'll be able to bosh out a post next week, on (can you believe it?) Christmas day!
My first favourite item this week is these gorgeous jumper from Topshop with a snowman on it! It's perfect for Christmas time, especially since it's unlike that I'll get a chance to build an actual snowman due to the severe lack of snow.
My next favourite item are these lovely jeans from Urban Outfitters in a rather festive shade of red! I think the jeans and the snowman jumper would be the most festive combo ever, and would be perfect for lounging around on Christmas day!
My last fave is this lovely festive jumper form Urban Outfitters. I personally love over the top patterned, fairilse jumpers and think the colours in this jumper make it incredibly Christmassy! Despite wanting a jumper like this I've never got round to buying one as all the ones I've seen in vintage shops have been made of thick wool, which really irritates my skin. Thankfully though, this one is much thinner and made of cotton.

Hope you guys like all my find and Merry Christmas!

Sunday Night Faves No.16

Hey guys! Hope everyone has had a lovely week! I went out shopping today and it was so lovely because there were little Christmas stalls and some charities were singing carols to raise money which was really lovely. The fortnight before Christmas is possibly my favourite time of year, although I'm a little disappointed that I haven't seen a single fake of snow yet.
Anyway, my first favourite item this week are these rather interesting brogues from Topshop. Now, they may not be to everyone's taste and I first I thought Topshop were just trying to generate more profit by saving money on leather. But, I actually think these look quite interesting and they're certainly very eye-catching. Plus I think the different shades of cream are really nice, although they are perhaps a little too Summery for this chilly weather.
Next are these gorgeous platform heels from, yet again, Topshop. As you can probably tell, I'm really loving creamy colours which is very annoying given the chilly weather. I'm really loving chunky platform heels, I just find them so much easier to walk in than your average stiletto heels.
My final favourite item this week is this gorgeous spotty chiffon shirt from Urban Outfitters! I've always been slightly obsessed with the colour pink since I was little and even now I'm still drawn like a magnet to all things pink. This shirt seems like a real investment as you can wear it tucked in or out and the spots are actually velvet which, to me, makes it the perfect shirt!

Hope you guys like my finds and be sure to comment!

Magical Max Factor Shadestick

Recently I've been experimenting quite abit with eye shadows and what not. Given how much I used to steer clear of dark colours, I've really come to enjoy doing a smokey eye look. I do eventually plan on using dark blacks and blues, but for now I'm getting used to doing a smokey dark brownish eye. I can definitely recommend a few good eye products which are perfect for creating a subtle smokey brown eye, particularly the NYX jumbo eye pencils, although they can get very dirty and become some what unsightly due to the white packaging.
The Max Factor shade stick was just something I picked up in Tesco for around 5 GBP, which is actually a pretty good price I think. As you can see from the photos it like two eye crayons combined (so you're kind of getting two for five pounds if you think about it), one of which is a rounded champagne colour the other is a dark brown with a more pointed angle to it.
While having two eye crayons in one is very handy, as it's easy just to throw in your bag and top up your smokey during the day, to use each colour you have to twist the tube, which has unfortunately resulted in my dark brown being squished as I forgot to twist it all the way down before I put the lid on. But, that was my own silly fault and overall, I really like this product, as the dark brown and champagne are really easy to blend together (so there isn't really any chance that you'll look like a panda as I normally look like when I apply dark colours). I'm know really curious to try this out in other colours, perhaps the dark black and silver.
Are you guys into smokey eyes? Be sure to comment and let me know!

Friday Fashion Icon No.3

Hello everyone! Thought I would bosh out a Friday Fashion Icon post for you guys! So, this month I'm really loving Diana Vicker's style. For those of you who aren't too familar with Diana, she's an X-Factor contestant from a few years ago, who now regualrly features in glossy magazines for her unqiue style.
She stood out on X-Factor due to her messy, back-combed hair and reluctance to wear shoes, but now she has a more groomed, mature, but equally unique style.

I love how Diana mixes bright colours with vintage designs, and I particularly like the second dress as I think the navy collar and waistband give it a vintage sailor look. I also think her hair style is so nice, and normally I huge fan of a fringe that's been middle parted but she some how manages to pull it off!
Do you like Diana Vickers's style? Be sure to comment and let me know!

Elf Luscious Liquid Lipstick Review

Hey guys! I'm sure most of you will know about Elf and their cheap cosmetics. They're well-known for having flash sales with up 40% off, so I would advice to hold off ordering until you spot an attractive deal. I made a reasonably large order a good few months ago when they were holding their last ever 50% off sale. I have to say, delivery wise, I was impressed as it arrived very quickly given the amount of orders placed.
For me, Elf was very hit and miss, some of the products I love, and some I really dislike. One of the products I really love were the Luscious Liquid Lipsticks.
They retail for 1.50 GBP, which is such a bargin given the quality of the product. The one on the right is Pink Lemonade, and the one on the lift is Ruby Slipper. Although I love both the colours, Pink Lemonade in particular looks completely different to the swatch given on the website, so I would say just be aware that the colour you order may appear much darker or lighter in reality.
Since both colours are quite dark they do add a decent amount of colour and plenty of shine, but the best thing about them has to be their lovely smell, which is supposedly 'Vanilla Mint', but to me it smells more like Coca Cola lip gloss, which I love.
I'll defnitely be ordering more of these come the next flash sale! Do you guys like Elf? Be sure to comment and let me know!

Sunday Night Finds No.15

Hey guys! Hope it's been a good week for everyone, anybody had any snow? I hear there's some on the way and personally I'm dying to see some of the stuff! It's literally just occurred to me that Christmas is only three week away, how very exciting!
So, my first find this week is this gorgeous purple daisy skirt from Topshop! I absolutely love wearing florals in Summer, so this skirt is perfect for me, as it incorporates daisies in a more Wintery design. I also think it has a real vintagey look to it, which is rather odd for something from Topshop!
Next up is this lovely honey-coloured fur scarf/collar from Topshop! I recently bought a blazer from Primark, so to make it look a bit more expensive I decided to search for a fur collar and thought this one would price it up a bit, as well as keeping my neck nice and warm. If I'm honest, I've always been slightly reluctant to invest in a fur collar, as although they look fantastic on, they look a little like a dead animal when you're not wearing them, which freaks me out a little.
My next find this week is a pair of leggings from River Island. I never usually wear leggings, as I always think they'll make my legs look fat. But, as part of my New Year's resolution, I would really like to push myself out of my comfort zone when it comes to what I wear. So, these aztec leggings are the perfect start, as I love the print and the colours!

I've got glitter on the brain!

Ok, so alot of people have a preconception about glitter and think that it just looks tacky and cheap, and unfortunately, I'm ashamed to say I was one of those people. This is mostly due to the fact that I've had some bad experiences with glittery shoes (cheap glittery pumps to be precise), where by the glitter begins on the shoes, but by the end of the day all you're left with is a pair of plain, glitterless pumps and an abundance of glitter on your outfit.
Thankfully though I have found the light, the massive glittery light that is.
The thing I love about these three pairs of shoes from Topshop is that you don't need to be girly to pull them off. I mean if someone had told me that glittery creepers existed, I certainly wouldn't have believed them, but low and behold, they do exist and look very nice! A pair of glittery shoes can really sparkle up an outfit, and for someone like myself, who isn't the biggest fan of heels, the brogues or creepers are perfect! I'm definitely spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting a pair of glittery shoes, as all the shops sell lovely pairs which I would be happy to wear!
My main tip though when buying a pair of glittery shoes would be to rub your fingers across them (I am aware this may look a bit odd to other shopper, so try and be discrete) this way you can guesstimate how likely the glitter is too come off the shoes!
Do you guys love glitter as much as me? Be sure to comment and let me know!

Sunday Night Finds No.14

Hey guys! Hope every ones had a pleasant week, I certainly have as I've been stocking up for the upcoming festivities, which always makes me ridiculously excited! My first fave this week is this really cute, albeit slightly Summery rose dress from Topshop. I know the pattern and shape of this dress doesn't quite work with the cold weather were having now and I certainly wouldn't were this dress in the Snow, but that is the beauty of layering! This dress would look very nice under an over sized jumper, or a leather jacket, or whatever Winetry items you have lurking in your wardrobe!
My next find this week are these gorgeous burgundy shoes from Miss Selfridge. I love a good chunky heel on a shoe and am actually very reluctant to wear thinner heels, as I'm worried that they'll snap or something. As well as the gorgeous, (and very practical) heel I absolutely love the colour! I just find burgundy so nice to wear and think it's perfectly suited to this time of year! I'm not crazy about the bow, and I would gladly wear them without it, but it does add a kind of cutesy element to the shoes.
So those are my two finds this week, be sure to comment and let me know what you think of them!

'Your bags from Primark?'

Hey guys! This is just a quick post to show you all this amazing bag I got from Primark recently. Now, I have a love/hate relationship with Primark, I love some of the clothes and accessories, but I really hate the store. I just find it too busy and I'm sure there are more clothes on the floor than on the shelves. But, I popped in there recently just to have a quick look round the shoes (although a quick look soon developed into a long walk around the entire store). After my initial scout around, I spotted this gorgeous bag, which looks so unique and vintage.
Apologies for the poor photo, but I had no natural light to use and took this photo in my bedroom with the blinds down. As you can see, it's a really cute suitcase style bag (I've lusted after one for so long!), and it kind of reminds me of a squirrel suitcase bag from River Island, which I featured in my Sunday Night Faves post a while ago. It has a really nice handle and a shoulder strap, which is adjustable (yay!)
It has little pink and white pinstripes on the inside and has a perfectly sized pocket for your phone or ipod. The best thing about this bag has to be the price, it was just 14 GBP! Even if it's only used once or twice it will sit nicely in the corner of my room as a jewelery or make storage case.
Have you guys bought anything nice from Primark recently? Be sure to comment and let me know!

Sunday Night Faves No.13

Hey guys! Hope every ones well! Apologies for not blogging much, but I've finally got round to charging the batteries or my camera so expect a few product reviews very soon! Anyway, with Christmas approaching, I find that rather than searching through an abundance of clothing websites, I can just look at my previous Sunday Night Faves posts for some present ideas!

My first fave this week are these gorgeous dip dye shorts from Topshop. I know they are a tad Summery, but I just love them! Although they wouldn't be worn for quite a few months, I have to say I'm very tempted to get them and just wait until the weather (if it ever does!).
How cute are these little tan ankle boots from Urban Outfitters? They're so lovely and I think they would look adorable with a pair of patterned socks. Obviously you can't wear boots like these in the snow or rain, but for some reason they have a real Christmassy look to them, perhaps it's the tassels.
This hat is from Urban Outfitters and is without a doubt the cutest hat I've seen this Winter (it even beats that pink one from Topshop that was featured in an earlier post!). I love the pattern, as it makes it look quite vintage and the pom-pom really is the cherry on top of an already lovely cake! I would seriously recommend that everyone invests in a hat, as they're perfect for disguising a bad hair day.
Be sure to comment and let me know what you think of my favourite items this week!

Friday Fashion Icon No.2

Hey guys! I thought I'd start off the weekend by doing a Friday Fashion Icon post. I don't know about you guys, but I go through fazes where I become completely obsessed with what one celebrity is wearing, and although I don't aim to copy their style, I'm very influenced by it.
Over the past couple of weeks I've really been loving Pixie Lott's style. I like how versitile her she is when it comes to style and although I don't like absolutely everything she wear, some of it I really love! One style that Pixie Lott really suits is cute and preppy, and as you may guess from my obsession with peter pan collars, this is the style that I really love.
Pixie's heart dress in the first photo is possibley one of the nicest dresses I have ever seen, although some people may find the pattern a bit too much on the eye or dislike the colour, I absolutely love it! If you want to get that Pixie Lott preppy look, I would definitely recommend buying a pair of knee high socks, some loafers or brogues and a fitted blazer.
Do you like Pixie Lott's style? Be sure to comment and let me know!

Sunday Night Faves No.12

Hey everyone! Apologies for my lack of posts this week, but I've been really busy with school work. I did, however, find time to give my blog a bit of a revamp, which I hope you guys all like. It's definitely getting a lot colder now and I've been hunting for a comfy, yet cute scarf since the start of October. So, you can imagine my delight when I saw this really cute fair isle scarf from Urban Outfitters. I love the Urban Outfitters scarves, because the shape of them is simple and easy to wear. I do actually have a have a tartan one which I bought last year, that I've worn non-stop, so I see the purchasing of another one as an investment of some sort.
My next fave this week is anything item from Urban Outfitters. It's these gorgeous large spotted tights! I just love them and think they're an easy way to make an outfit look a lot more interesting.
My final fave this week is this velvet pinkish top from Topshop. If you can't already tell, I really love my velvet and this top would make the perfect addition to my ever growing velvety wardrobe. I also really love the colour, as I absolutely love pink, whether it's extremely bright or quite pale. The only thing putting me off this relatively simplistic top is the price, as I'm really not sure if it's worth it.
Hope you guys like my finds and I would to know what you think, so be sure to comment!

Monday Musings #1 'Why so anonymous?'

This isn't a product or clothing post, this is just a rambley post about why I'm currently an anonymous blogger. I began blogging toward the end of the Summer, mainly because I was reading and enjoying so many blogs and thought that if reading blogs was fun, writing one ought to be a hoot! And it is, I love blogging and can't help feel a sense of pride when I look at my blog.
However, my decision to remain anonymous is only temporary and I look forward to doing outfit posts so people can really see my personal sense of style. Unfortunately though, I just don't feel ready to put photos of myself up on the Internet where it's so easy for people to judge and criticise you. But, in my few months as a blogger I've found the blogging community to be very positive and rarely see any negative comments. I do really look forward to revealing my identity and making my blog more personal, even though I can't pin point whether that will be when I turn eighteen or forty-three, but I'm sure that I'll know when the time is right.

Sunday Night Faves No.11

Hey guys! Hope you've all had a nice week and had a nice Bonfire Night last night. It's been a pretty busy couple of weeks for me, I have so much school work and I probably won't get a chance to blog until the end of next week, but I am planning to do another Friday Fashion Icon post. As busy as I get I always ensure I do my Sunday Night Faves Post every week, as I'm determined never to miss a week!
Anyway, my first find is this lovely lipglass from Mac's new range 'Glitter And Ice'. I love pretty much everything in the range, the design of the products has a real Christmas feel to it and the colours seem extra sparkly! I think I'll do a post about what's on my Mac Christmas List very soon. This lipglass comes in a several other colours, but this sparkly reddish colour seems perfect for the upcoming festivities.
My next find this week is this brown crochet heart dress from River Island. Usually, crochet isn't something I would consider wearing, as I typically associate it with fancy napkins and doilies. But, there's something about this dress that I really like. The simple shape of the dress contrasts nicely with the interesting crochet detail and I think this dress could look really nice paired with the right accessories.
I've saved the best until last this week, just look at these amazing silver platforms from Topshop! I really can't get enough of Topshop's shoes and I already have a couple on my Christmas list. This pair stood out so much for me, the colour is just so unique and I think I would feel like I ought to be in space if I put them on. The great thing about these shoes is you could easily just pair them with a simple black bodycon dress and hey ho, you have yourself a pretty fantastic outfit!

Be sure to comment and tell me what you think of my finds!

My New Favourite Brush!

When it comes to brushes, I use what I can find in my draw and only buy some when I absolutely have to. Although, I do plan to invest in some good-quality brushes over Christmas. But, one brush that I absolutely love and never want to replace is my Bubbi brush. If you watch Bubbi's videos, as I do, then you'll know she recently brought out a range of gorgeous brushes. I had to try one and for some reason the retractable brush caught my eye.
After I ordered it, I expected it to be delivered in one or two weeks because of all the orders being placed. But, to my excitemnt it arrived so quickly and I instantly fell in love with it! The brush itself is so soft, and the case is so practical, as I can put powder on it, then pop the lid on and put it in my makeup bag for a quick top-up during the day.
My love for this brush increased even more after I watched a tutorial from Bubbi about how to use the brushes and I realised you can pull the red part up to create a thinner, more angled brush, which is fantastic for putting powder under my eyes and around my nose.
I always take this brush out with me, and would never leave home without it! It's such good value for money and the design is so different and original!
I'll probably ask for the set for Christmas, because if the other brushes are half as good as the retractable one, then I'll be very chuffed.
You can buy Bubbi brushes here and have a look at her YouTube channel here, her videos always cheer me up!
What kind of brushes do you guys recommend? Be sure to let me know!

Sunday Night Faves No.10

Wow, I actually can't believe that my blog is 10 weeks old! A huge thank-you to everyone of my followers, I'm so happy that there are people who like to read my blog. So, onto my favourite finds this week. First is this gorgeous velvet blue skater dress. It's actually amazing how much velvet stuff they have in Topshop at the moment, I really love velvet and think it's prefect for the Christmas party season.
My second find is, again from Topshop. It's this metallic scallop vest, which just looks so simple yet glitzy. I know it might be considered to be a bit tacky, but I think if you style it nicely it could look so nice and perhaps quite expensive. If anyone is going as an astronaut or an alien for Halloween, then this top is perfect for you!
Sorry for my lack of finds this week, but I only include things I genuinely like and would wear and both of these just happened to catch my eye.
Please comment and let me know what you think of them!

Mmmm Boots Bodyspray

Hey guys, this is just a quick post about my favourite bodysprays in the world. They're from the Boots Natural Collection and I'm sure some of you guys will have seen or tried them before.
I absolutely love them, they're so fruity, fresh and amazing! I initially just planned to buy the Vanilla one, but it was 3 for 2 so I couldn't resist picking up the Strawberry and Mange & Papaya as well. I cannot recommend these enough, I'm currently using the Mango & Papaya and always receive complements on it.
Be sure to comment and tell me if you've tried these or what your favourite body sprays are.

Bit of Benefit!

Hey guys! I thought I'd do a post about my collection of Benefit products. Just to clarify, this isn't a haul, some of these products are a good few years old. I wouldn't say I'm a Benefit addict or anything, but I do think some of their products are essential.
Here's my collection, don't they look like a happy little family of Benefit products? I'm pretty positive that all of the products are still available in Boots and other shops.
I'll begin with my favourite products and work my way down to my least favourite. Oh and just to clarify I wasn't sent any of this stuff, I bough it all myself (well, my dad bought me some) and just because I don't like a product doesn't mean you won't!
My absolute favourite Benefit product is my Erase Paste, which retails at around £19. I bought it in July 2011 and use it every single day and although you can't really tell, there is still a lot left in the pot, so it is actually pretty good value for money. I don't really have dark circles under my eyes, but I seem to always have darkish marks no matter how much sleep I get at night.
My next favourite products from Benefit are their blushes! I just find them so lovely and very practical, as they come with a little blush brush inside! You can probably tell form the photo that Thrrob and Dandelion are quite old (Dandelion dates back to 2008, when I stole it from my mum's makeup bag!). They're all still available on the website for £23.50 and I definitely plan to purchase another Thrrob as soon as possible.
It's hard to choose which colour is my favourite, even though I've used Thrrob the most that's only because I've had it the longest. You can probably see that the packaging for Bella Bamba differs slightly to the packaging of the other two as it's lid is attached and features a little mirror, which is actually really useful! They all come with a little blusher brush, and although I'm not expert on brushes, the Benefit one is quite good in my opinion.
I would definitely recommend them, especially Bella Bamba, purely for it's gorgeous, yet practical packaging!
Next up is High Beam, which is a liquid highlighter that is supposed to highlight your cheek and brow bones. I like it, although I don't by any mean see it as essential. I find it gives my cheeks a pearly, dewy glow which I do really like.
I find the applicator brush really easy to use, evan for a makeup dummy like myself. Rather than re-purchasing it as soon as it finishes, I may add it to my Christmas list instead, as it's not one of those products that I absolutely have to wear every single day.
Onto my next Benefit products, which are the Badgal lash and eyeliner. Apologies for the fact that both of them looked quite old and scruffy, but as you can infer from the size of the eyeliner, I've used them non-stop for quite some time now! The mascara is actually empty, and although I did enjoy it, I wouldn't repurchase it as I' very content with the results of my Collection 2000 mascara. I do really love the eyeliner and have used it everyday since I was about 14, so I probably wouldn't ever consider buying an alternative black eyeliner.
So, this is Powder Flage, which is a powder concealer. I'm going to be brutally honest and say I really dislike this product, but perhaps that's because I was a little to optimistic about a powder concealer. I just don't see the difference this product makes to my face that could be because I'm using it wrong or because this product just isn't that good.
These are the three mini products that come in the Just In Case set. You can probably see that I've used Benetint quite a lot, and I do really like it! You only need a tiny drop though, otherwise you'll end up with clown cheeks. Eyecon, is an under eye concealer and although it isn't a patch on Erase Paste, it isn't too bad. California Kissin' is a minty lip gloss, which is really lovely and give your lips a nice tingly, minty fresh feeling.
So, we've reached the end of my rather long Benefit review and I hop you've enjoyed it and please comment about what Benefit product you like.
